The Awards, Year End Party and BBQ

We will be announcing the gymnasts of the year for every class (selected by the gymnasts GYMNASTS’S AWARD and by the coach COACH’S AWARD) at the Year End party. The gymnasts will be voting for ‘their gymnast of the year’ next few weeks.
Preschool gymnasts of the year will be announced at their last session on 16th July if they won’t be present at the party. Preschool will only have the Coach’s Award.

Last session for all recreational classes is Friday 11th July
Last session for Preschool & Development and Competition squads is Wednesday 16th July
18th July – Year end Party – for all gymnasts at 6pm – 7:30pm at Riverside UoW; THEME: RAINBOW
20th July – Club BBQ 1pm at Worcester Country Park – we have booked the BBQ so please bring your own food to cook and come and join us with your family for a nice fun afternoon.

Rose Cup 2014

Well done to all RGC Worcester gymnasts who travelled to Wellingborough on Saturday 27th June, to compete in the Rose Cup. It was great to see how they have all progressed since their last competition.

Level 3 Junior with ball Rebecca King 1st place. Rebecca also received the award for the gymnast with the most potential! Superstar!

I’m really excited to tell you that two gymnasts Sara and Zara with their coach Tamara from Slovakia DANUBIA – klub modernej gymnastiky will be coming to Worcester to train and spend some nice time with us. Sara has recently competed at the European Championships in Baku. This is great news!!!

Training info for Saturday groups

Please note that the club will be closed on Saturday 10th May as Petra is attending a National School Competition with the schools from Worcestershire and Herefordshire.
Training on this occasion will be rescheduled to Friday 9th May

6pm-7pm for recreational gymnasts and gymnasts who train only once a week
7pm-8:30pm/9pm for gymnasts who train twice a week

If your daughter(s) already train on Friday – this cancelled training will be either refunded or deducted from your next invoice.

Due to Health and Safety of the gymnasts the viewing area will be closed on Friday 9th May

Regional Grades & Championships

Our regional level gymnasts travelled to Wellingborough on 30th March to compete in their first regional and zonal competition.
Congratulations to Rebecca King, Jessica Dodd and Millie Jordan for passing their regional grades.
Congratulations to Olivia McNelis who became the U8 West Midlands Champion and to Julia Niesiel who came 1st in the region and 2nd overall in our zone!
Fantastic achievement!!! Well done all!!!

Trainee Coach/Level 1 coach needed

We are looking for a trainee coach to assist with our sessions on Saturday 9am – 12noon. Previous experience with children in dance or gym environment desirable, but not essential. This is a voluntary position with a view of attending Level 1 Assistant Coach course in Northampton on the following days 26th April, 10th May, 11th May. The club may look into partly funding the course for the right candidate.

RESPONSIBLE TO: Head Coach

CRB AND MEMBERSHIP: CRB and Silver membership required – we can help the candidate to gain this

SKILLS REQUIRED:
• Ability to motivate performers and communicate effectively with them
• Sound organisational skills
• Good time management skills
• Prepared to make a regular time commitment

ROLE PURPOSE:
To assist the Head Coach in delivering the clubs programme

Easter Holiday Camps

14th April Monday 10am-3pm at Nunnery Wood Sports Complex
15th April Tuesday 10am-3pm at Riverside UoW Dance studio
22nd April Tuesday 10am-3pm at Riverside UoW Dance studio
24th April Thursday 10am-3pm at at Riverside UoW Activity hall

Cost £16.50 per day

SPONSORED HULA HOOP EVENT

When: 1st March at 11am for 1hour
Where: Riverside UoW
Who: All RGCW gymnasts and coaches
Dress code: Fancy dress (must be able to do gym activities in)
Aim: Raising funds for more equipment

Sponsored forms will be handed out after the event and gymnasts will have 1 week to bring the forms back along with their sponsorships.

All donations/sponsorships money will go towards purchasing new equipment and display leotards and costumes for all gymnasts.

Monday Camp 17/2 – change of venue

Due to the flooding around our Riverside venue, the camp on Monday 17/2 will take place at Nunnery Wood Sports Complex. We will keep you informed about the rest of the week.

Club closure 8th – 15th February

The club will be closed and there will be no classes held in this period:
8th – 15th February

Message for parents whose gymnasts train on Saturdays only:

1. Gymnasts who train on Saturday 9am and 10am class (and not on Friday) your class is rescheduled to Friday 7th Feb at 6pm.
2. Gymnasts from Saturday’s 11:30 class, your class is rescheduled to Friday 7th February at 7pm.
